Biography

Margarita’s sultry voice and romantic stage presence captivates her audiences around the world. Her appearance on “Fame Story,” Greece’s answer to “American Idol,” gave her the notoriety to pursue her career professionally. Performing regularly in the States and Europe, she has also graced the stages of China and Australia. The combination of her degree in Vocal Performance, coupled with her love of world music has given her a unique edge in vocal style and technique.

Margarita’s exciting project, “Cine Ellinikon” (Greek Cinema), has recently brought her to Carnegie Hall’s finest stage, performing her remake of “Never on Sunday,” an Oscar-winning song originally recorded by Melina Mercouri in 1960. In this album, Margarita works closely with talented composer and musician Ioannis Goudelis reviving some of Greece’s most coveted singers and songwriters of the 60’s and 70’s. The album is creating quite a buzz, along with her first music video

Margarita’s most recent endeavors include a collaboration with talented R&B singer/songwriter Leah Tysse. Using the alias ‘The Homegrown Helens’, the two are merging their individual styles to create something very unique. The Homegrown Helens will take you to the roots of the acoustic voice all the way to the dance floor.
